Bio

Kara Woolsey serves as the Controller and Accounting Manager at McCormack Construction, bringing over a decade of experience in accounting, financial management, and leadership. She began her career at The RBH Group (formerly Read & Bose CPAs) in Pendleton, OR, where she rose to the role of Senior Staff Accountant. In that position, she managed a wide range of responsibilities, including bookkeeping, payroll, tax preparation (individual, partnership, corporate, and nonprofit), financial statement preparation, and municipal auditing.

Her extensive experience also includes running her own firm, Woolsey Accounting & Consulting, where she supported small businesses with accounting and financial consulting services. She previously served as Director of Travel Pendleton, working to boost local tourism by recruiting and supporting events that strengthen the community and economy.

Outside of work, Kara is deeply committed to her family and her community. She and her husband, Ty, have three children—Royce, Austin, and Tyler—and she enjoys coaching their sports teams and volunteering with their clubs. She also serves as a summer and fall instructor for PGC Basketball, mentoring youth athletes from around the world. Her community involvement includes serving as Treasurer of the Two Cultures One Community Powwow committee and volunteering with organizations such as the Pendleton Round-Up, Pendleton Chamber of Commerce, Pendleton Parks and Recreation, Pendleton Youth Soccer, Pendleton Wrestling Club, Pendleton Swim Association, and Pendleton HS Girls Basketball.

At McCormack Construction, Kara is a crucial member of the leadership team, responsible for stewarding the company’s growth and direction. She oversees all financial operations— including budgeting, reporting, compliance, HR, and payroll—ensuring that practices align with the company’s strategic goals and are conducted with the highest level of integrity. She is known for her ability to streamline processes, her strong organizational skills, and her dedication to accuracy and excellence.
